Poetry and Essays inspired by the radical presses of Manchester, 1977-2010
From 1977 to 2010 several radical publishing presses emerged in Manchester to write, and therefore fight, for change. Such fight was in their DNA. They gave voice to working class people, wrote fervently about working class lives and gave hope to all those seeking a fairer society.
This collection contains a series of tributes — in poetic and other forms — by writers of today to those warriors and changemakers of the past. Here, the firestarters of yesterday hand the torch to those who are starting the fires of tomorrow.
Featuring Abhijeet Singh, Annette O Reis, Cansu Han, Daniella Edwards, Dipali Das, Eileen Pun, Sujatha Pillai, Maz Hedgehog, Lydia J Williams, Maya Chowdhry, SuAndi and Tina Tamsho-Thomas
